Confirmed date Jun 2  ( Saturday) The Station Family Fund Benefit/MotorcycleRun
The Station Family Fund is an all-volunteer, tax exempt, nonprofit organization. The fund was established months after the fire ripped through The Station nightclub on February 2003.
100 people perished, close to 200 were severely injured, and more than 60 children lost one or both parents in the horrific fire.

Every dollar raised by the Station Family Fund, Inc. goes directly to address the needs of the survivors and the families of victims catastrophically impacted by The Station nightclub fire. However, in recent years, fundraising has declined, leaving the fund with only about $3,000, and support seems to be waning. The Run will be held on June 2, 2007 at the Outlaw BBQ, on Rte 1 in Foxboro, MA (rain date June 3rd). But you don’t have to ride to come stop by and show your support. Join us for the pig/chicken roast, live entertainment, raffles, and biker games.

Dedicated to helping families affected by Congenital Heart Defects

Grace was born on September 4th 2003 with a rare and serious Congenital Heart Defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). She had her 1st open-heart surgery at 6 days old, her 2nd at 5 ½ months and her 3rd and hopefully final open-heart surgery in October 2006.

This police escorted 50 mile ride will raise money for The Grace Alice Campbell Foundation, which helps children and their families treated in the pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital Boston, and also to fund much needed research for CHD.

Congenital Heart Defects are the nation’s #1 birth defect, affecting approximately 40,000 or 1 in every 125 babies born each year.

(Rain date is 26 Aug 07)
WHO We are veterans who ride motorcycles. While we are not employed by nor have any legal ties with the Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc, a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization, we have seen the Herculean efforts that are being performed by Ms. Leslie Lightfoot and her staff on behalf of our Brothers and Sisters with specific needs that are not being addressed by government programs. We have decided that we can best support this organization by providing an avenue for others who desire to contribute.

WHAT A motorcycle rally/ride to generate funds to be donated to this program was established. However, the ride has evolved into more than just veterans and motorcycles. There will be a motorcycle ride. After the ride, there will be a picnic, at the Victory Farm in Fitzwilliam , NH , that will be open to  anyone who wishes to attend. It will include a cookout, a 50/50 raffle, auction/raffle of donated items of value and a time of reflection with our hosts and other veterans. There will be a cost to ride of $15 per bike and $5 per passenger. “Walks in” are welcome at a charge of $10 per person. In all cases, children under the age of 13 will be admitted free.

WHY The Veteran Hospice Homestead Inc. operates three facilities in central Massachusetts : The Homestead Hospice, The Hero's Homestead and The Armistice Homestead. They have a Mobile Medical Unit that canvases central Massachusetts and New Hampshire , providing health screenings for veterans. They have completed two new projects: The Veterans Victory Farm (a working farm for homeless veterans with emotional or physical problems) and the Hacienda de Veteranos in Caguas , Puerto, Rico, (with a focus on restoring a sense of self-worth to our troubled veterans in Puerto Rico ). These are places of health and healing, as are all of the Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc., facilities. A new project, the Northeast Veteran Trauma Rehabilitation Center , is a $5 million undertaking which will include a state-of-the art live-in rehab center with amenities and services that will help the veteran amputee prepare for and successfully face the challenges that confront the disabled. (A color brochure is provided herein.)

WHEN The Inaugural Event will be held 24 June 2007, with a Rain Date of 26 August 2007. Registration will be from 10:00-11:30AM. The ride will begin at 12 Noon and take approximately 1 hour. The picnic will begin when we arrive at the farm around 1 PM. Activities will continue until sometime around 5 or 6
PM.

WHERE The ride will begin at Gomarlo’s Market & Gas Station Parking Lot, Rt. 10, W. Swanzey, NH (4 ¾ mi. So. of intersection - 101, 10, 12 - Keene, NH). It will end at the Veterans Victory Farm at 85 Pierce Road , Fitzwilliam , NH .

HOW In order to generate additional funds, we will be auctioning/raffling donated items of value. To that end, we are requesting donations from civic minded organizations that might be able to provide promotional goods or services. We are thinking of items such as meal vouchers/discounts, autographed sports memorabilia, possibly even game tickets, leather goods, shirts/sunglasses/hats, motorcycle parts/accessories, etc. These items will be controlled and will be provided to the winner (via high bid, in the case of an auction, or verified ticket drawn, in the case of raffled items). In fact, we are extending an offer for a member or members of your organization to attend and provide personal attention by handing out the winning items. In addition, upon request we will provide the appropriate Tax ID number of the Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc. In all cases, if you would like to make a monetary donation, you may make a check payable to “Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc.”
Donations may be sent to Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc, 69 High Street ,
Fitchburg , MA 01420
. Please also feel free to join us at the picnic and present the check to Ms Lightfoot in person.

If you would like to donate food stuffs or funds for picnic supplies, please contact Don at dbfaithworks@verizon.net  or Paul at nhpaul51@aol.com. If we receive a corporate sponsor for operating expenses, all additional financial donations will be turned over to Veteran Hospice Homestead, Inc.
