Annie's
Dash
Rain Date: Aug. 9, 2008
4th Annual Memorial Motorcycle Rally Fundraiser to Benefit Cancer Research
Vendors are Welcome. Contact us at
vendors@anniesdash.com
Outlaw BBQ, Route 1, Foxboro, Mass.
Registration 8 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
$20.00/pp
A group of friends of the late Anne LaRosa are once again organizing a
memorial motorcycle rally, scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2008
beginning and ending at the Outlaw B-B-Q in Foxboro. This is an event with
three goals: to honor Annie's memory, to benefit the Gynecologic
Oncology Research Fund at Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center (where
Annie was treated) and to raise awareness about ovarian cancer.
In the Fall of 2003, Annie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. At 46, Annie
had never been sick a day in her life, and now she had to have
surgery, followed by multiple cycles of chemotherapy which continued until
2005. Annie fought a long and brave battle but she succumbed to
this disease and passed away, surrounded by friends and family, on
September 25, 2005, at only 48 years of age.
Please join us at the Outlaw B-B-Q, Route 1, Foxboro, Massachusetts on
August 3, 2008 (rain date August 9, 2008). The motorcycles will begin
assembling at 8:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m. When the bikes return, there
will be a pig/chicken roast, with all the "fixins," along with raffles,
auctions, vendors, biker games and live bands to entertain you. The cost
is $20.00 per person. But, you don't have to ride to join us.
Come
and show your support and have a great time!!!
If you can't join us and prefer to simply make a donation, please make out
your check to "Annie's Dash" and mail it to: Annie's Dash, P.O. Box
86, Walpole, Massachusetts, 02081. Also, if you would like to donate an
item or gift certificate for our raffles and/or auctions, please contact
me and we can make arrangements to pick up the donation.
All profits from Annie's Dash are being donated, in her name and memory,
to Caritas St. Elizabeth's Gynecologic Oncology Research Fund and are,
therefore, tax-deductible.
Please support this event - ovarian cancer is a killer. Funding is needed
to improve our ability to diagnose this disease at an earlier
stage. Additionally, we need to teach women to be more aware of the
disease's symptoms, and to be proactive in getting tested and treated
early.
Our Run has been endorsed by Dr. Michael A. Steller, Annie's physician and
Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology of Caritas St.
Elizabeth's Medical Center.
Thank you for your interest and support, and if you have any questions,
please feel free to contact us at

(Saturday) J-Don's Variety 3rd Annual
Bike Show and Poke Run
To Benefit
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
August 23rd @ J-Dons Variety
1081 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH 603-889-5742
Why Cystic Fibrosis?
We have been supporting The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years now.
We became involved because co-owner PJ Levesque's cousin,
Jonathan Dailey, was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 5. He has
been living with this terrible genetic disease for over 30 years. Over the
years, we have been involved in fund raisers such as poker runs,
walk-a-thons and flea markets to help the cause. For two years now we
decided to
take our commitment a step further and host the first ever "J-DON'S
VARIETY BIKE SHOW". We were able to raise and donate over $2500 from
the event in the first year and over $5000 in the second year. This year,
with some added attractions, we intend to surpass these amounts. With your
help, that goal can be achieved. Any and all donations are greatly
appreciated and will help to find a cure.
Poker Run Around Crotched Mountain
Pre-Registration available @ J-Don's Variety 1081
West Hollis St., Nashua NH
$25.00/Rider
$15.00/Passenger
Silent Auction
This year we will be
holding a silent auction beginning 2 weeks prior to the event. We believe
this will help jump start our event. We are actively seeking
"Big Ticket Items" to enter into the auction. Our minimum target number
of items to be auctioned is 10.
Raffles
If a silent auction item is not possible, consider donating something
smaller for our raffle table. Gift certificates, apparel, and promotional
items that advertise your business make excellent raffle items. Last year
we raffled off over 100 items donated by many vendors, customers, and
outside interests. This years raffle is shaping up to be even larger.
Thank you for any support that you might be able to give. A little will
go a long way. Feel free to contact PJ or
Brian any time if you have any questions, would like to pre-register, or
make a donation.
