Spadafora Choppers Gets a
New Home!
The growing popularity of Spadafora Choppers has forced them to move to a new and larger location. While the distance of their move from 35 to 69 Canal Street in Malden, Massachusetts might seem trivial, it was a significant move for Spadafora Choppers both in terms of the larger space but also the need for a permanent, dedicated home for Spadafora Choppers. The roots of Ray Willis' company began at the family auto repair and salvage businesses. Ray had always wanted to use some of his mechanical and fabrication skills that he had been using to build muscle cars to build a custom motorcycle. As he began his research, he decided on using a Rowe Machine frame as the foundation for his bike. Rowe was only an hour away so Ray made arrangements to meet with owner Marc Rowe. There was an immediate bond. Marc explained the basics of building a bike from the ground up. Marc even took the time to show Ray the fine points of TIG welding.
Ray's first bike was completed in 4 months. Not long after Ray got his motorcycle license it was time for the inaugural ride. What a sweet ride! Shortly afterwards he rode it to Laconia for Bike Week. As he cruised down the street, he was asked to pull the bike in to the Broken Spoke where the crowd cheered him on as he rode through to park it inside. Ray was hooked. Since then he has turned out one award winning custom after another including a bike for the Massachusetts Army National Guard and one for the NHL Boston Bruins (which the entire team signed and then auctioned off to raise money for the Bruins Foundation).
Ray designs and fabricates each chopper to fit the needs and desires of each customer. His work exceeds the standards of today's custom motorcycles and his unique designs are a blend of both traditional and modern styles. Top quality frames and components are always used for a well built, reliable, and comfortable ride. As the word spread Ray knew that he needed more space and some help.
Ray hired a Harley Davidson factory trained technician, Vic Kaelin, to assist with the growing business. Next on the list was to find some more space. Ray didn't have to look very far. Just down the street there was the shop space that he needed. has added a full parts room and a showroom to meet customer demands. As well as being a Massachusetts State Inspection Station, Spadafora Choppers, also offers heated bike storage at their new facility.
