Easy Riding

Anyone that's ridden long distance or ridden in cold weather knows the agony of the numb right hand. You really want to give that hand a break, or warm it up but you can't let go of the throttle long enough to do any good.

Then there's that thumbwheel throttle lock that Harley-Davidson has provided as stock equipment since the 70's.  If you ask them they'll say it's only there for warm-up and service but we know, most of us that ride any distance have fumbled with that thing time again trying to get it set just right so it holds the throttle open yet is easy to turn off in a hurry if you have to.  Gloves on, forget about it.

Along came Cruise-Mate and presto, the numbness is gone; you can easily set your throttle, relax your hand, or maybe even put it on the cylinder head to warm it up (although we would never recommend taking your hands off the handlebar while the bike is moving).

Cruise-Mate is an easy to install easy to operate Throttle Lock that looks great on your bike and you can flip it on to hold your throttle open or flip it off as easy as using your directional signals.  Available in two configurations (both well under 100 bucks) Cruise-Mate will fit the look and wallet of every biker out there.

Although originally designed to fit Harley-Davidson only, popular demand has forced them to expand the application to other motorcycle manufacturers.  Cruise-Mate will be available February 1, 2007 for Victory Motorcycles and they are hoping for an early Spring release for the Yamaha V-Star models.

A U. S. Navy Vietnam Veteran invented the Cruise-Mate for his own personal use in a small home machine shop; however, it worked out so well he applied for a U.S. Patent (still pending) and started installing it on his friend's bikes.  Cruise-Mate is now available at shops in 10 states as well as via their web site (www.cruise-mate.com) and on eBay.

Look for Cruise-Mate at the Rahn's Motorcycle Engineering booth February 3rd and 4th at the Northeast Motorcycle Expo at the Bayside Expo Center in Boston.  If you are going to Daytona Bike week, check out Cruise-Mate at Crank & Chrome Cycles Inc., 1533 Ridgewood Ave, Holly Hill, FL and at Myrtle Beach Bike week (location not determined yet).
